Annual Holiday Bear Project
As the oldest on-going project of the organization, since 1946 the Junior League’s sustaining members coordinate a holiday charity drive for approximately 300 children from at risk schools. The Junior League volunteers personally interview each child, who is selected by the school administrators, for their holiday toy and book wishes. They are measured for clothing and shoe sizes, and asked their favorite color. Each child from then on becomes a “bear” who is “adopted” by Junior League members and their friends. They are given the list of items to fulfill the wishes and needs for their “bear”. The presents are wrapped, tagged, bagged and brought to a central location and then at an appointed time delivered to the bear’s parents at the individual schools. Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Clause because the Junior League makes it happen.

Done in a Day
The Done in a Day project is a series of events and activities organized by the League throughout the year to improve or enhance the programs of existing social service agencies or their facilities. Prior to each event, the Done in a Day committee researches, organizes and prepares for the event. Coordinated by the project committee, each effort is usually done in a single day by JLLV members and community volunteers.

The Morelli House Public Program
In 2001, the Junior League acquired the Antonio Morelli House, originally located on the Desert Inn Country Club Estates, now the site of Wynn Resort. The Morelli House was relocated to 861 E. Bridger Ave in the City’s historical district in downtown Las Vegas and was subsequently restored as a historical preservation project for the community and to serve as the headquarters of the organization. The Morelli House was officially premiered to the public in April 2007 at its initial public tour and educational program. The Public Program is designed to showcase the historic mid century Morelli House through pre-arranged group tours, public open houses, and educational programs related to the period of Las Vegas history that the house represents.
