Lisa McAnallen President 2010 – 2011, Junior League of Las Vegas
Welcome! The Junior League of Las Vegas has been an important part of the community for over 60 years. So much has changed in our town during that time, but the women of JLLV continue to create positive change through our projects and programs. We are very excited to embark on a journey to develop ideas to promote our new Focus Area of Health and Wellness.
This summer, the Provisional Committee will host two Prospective Member Socials. Developing the potential of women is a part of our mission that is very close to my heart. Growing our membership will assist us to strengthen our impact in the Las Vegas community. The training that the JLLV provides truly sets us apart from other non-profit organizations. We are an active membership of over 100 women this year and are currently accepting new member applications. Within our site, you will find more information about joining our organization.
The fall season is filled with activities and opportunities. The long-awaited Rose Warren Elementary Playground Build will take place on September 25th, 2010. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the many generous members of our organization and the community who helped to make this dream a reality. It has been 51 years since the League helped develop Fantasy Park. The children of this neighborhood never knew that park- but this playground will let the spirit of that endeavor live on in the next generation.
Serving as president gives one a unique perspective of our organization; our history and future possibilities- our successes and opportunities for growth. I welcome each of you to share in my enthusiasm as you learn more about the JLLV.
