Junior League is proud to be hosting it's 7th Annual Paint the Town Red Gala, in honor of local women who exemplify volunteerism and community activism. This year's honorees are longtime community volunteer and Sustainer, Dedee Nave, who will be honored with the Lifetime Community Achievement Award, and Carolyn Goodman, President of The Meadows School and tireless community advocate, will receive the Florence Lee Jones Community Award.

Built in 1961, Rose Warren is an Empowerment School whose mathematics scores showed the 3rd highest growth of all CCSD elementary schools.
Out of an enrollment of 674
students, 508 qualify for free or reduced lunch.
Despite a significant
language barrier for most families, student’s parents are actively involved in
the following programs on site: parent center with computers, sewing machines
and a play area for pre-school children, A Parent University offers classes
including: GED, technology, health issues, learning to support student
achievement, UNLV health/nutrition classes, cooking classes, sewing/crafts and
more.
Parents also participate
through leadership classes, volunteers in the classrooms, evening classes for
learning English and round table meetings for parent input.
On building day we will also need: In kind donations of 2-3 large tents, t-shirts (printed),
water, food (breakfast and lunch), activities to occupy smaller children in the
gym - people to supervise them, first aid supplies, CONCRETE slab poured, ground
prepped and leveled.
